Enuice has been monitoring the prayer life of her granddaughter closely, and it was going as she expected.
“From discouragement, anger and frustration has set in. Exactly how I wanted it.
Discouragement is truly a door through which other arrows fly in unannounced.” Eunice said happily as she stared at the image that states the percentage of Vivian’s spiritual life.
“I’d tie you down, like I tied your father down. No one in my generation would ever rise above me!” She said to Vivian’s image.
“It’s a pity you don’t know the power you possess. It’s also a pity you’re falling for my traps as well. Your dad is currently living below his destined expectation, and you’d tread the same path as well.”
Mrs. Folawe was relaxing and watching the TV set when she heard a knock on her door.
“Ah ah, sweetheart you’re home?”
“Yes, I am. And very exhausted too.” Mr. Folawe responded as she made way for him to come.
“I wasn’t expecting you to be home this early. The kids aren’t even back yet.” She said as she set the table.
“Yeah, there wasn’t much work to do in the office today.” He responded.
“So tell me, how was your day? Hope you weren’t bored here.” He said as he took the first bite.
“No, not at all. Infact, I did something interesting today.”
“Oh really? What’s that?”
“Remember I told you about the idea of practicing the purifying blood of Jesus, right?”
“Yeah, yeah I remember.”
“So I did it again today and this time, went round the whole house, entering each room.” She said excitingly.
“Wow, that’s really nice. Your faith is really growing, because if you ask me, I don’t know how you believe a bottle of water was transformed to the blood of Jesus simply because you prayed so.”
“Well, faith is essential in our walk with God.”
“Hmmm…..I see.” He said while she kept quiet and allowed him enjoy his food for a while.
“Ehe that reminds me, while at it, I came across a door under lock and key.
I was wondering who and why it would be so, because I don’t remember it being that way.” She said and that instant George froze.
He however tried to maintain his chill.
“A closed door? Were you able to open it?” He asked nervously.
“Yes, with the master’s key in our bedroom.” She responded and cold chills ran down his spine so fast that he didn’t didn’t know when he began to stammer.
“Did you…..did you see anything?”
“Anything like what?”
“Babe you really need to calm down. I’m sure the lecturers made some errors and it’d be rectified soon.” Cindy gently said to Vivian who kept pacing up and down the room in frustration.
“I’m not disputing that, but why must it be me? Is it that God doesn’t answer my prayers again or what? I just don’t get it.”
“Vivian! Just how can you say that?”
“Hold on Cindy, let me finish. First things first, I’ve been prayerful right from time; yet my whole family fell sick and I wasn’t even informed about it. No dream, no revelation, nothing!
Second, just when I’m trying to repair my relationship with God, this hits.
Like…..can’t God just give me an idea of what’s going to happen next?
Can’t He?
Or isn’t the gift of wisdom and knowledge in this world?
Or don’t I deserve the blessing in Amos 3:7?”
“Wait…..chill. If I could get anything you’re saying, you’re annoyed at God because He didn’t reveal certain things to you.
I mean, that was why you deliberately let the fire on your prayer altar go down because you felt cheated, right?” Cindy said as Vivian kept quiet.
“Babe you really need to relax o, because me I don’t understand your line of argument.
First things first, the manifestation of these gifts in one’s life have levels to it.
There’s a level of concentration you’d get to before some scriptures would begin to play out fully in one’s life.
Take for instance, your whole family was hospitalized but you weren’t, and I believe that’s as a result of the spiritual height you’ve been able to attain; for some, they’d be hospitalized too but would be discharged sooner than the rest of the members of the family.
No one died in the strange sickness your family was afflicted with because of the height you’ve attained.
Second, you merely didn’t do well in two courses and not that you carried them over which would’ve been worse.
Now there could be a believer out there who carried a course and is still would be standing firm in faith, but your case.
I think you should be grateful here and not the other way round.”
“You know what? You don’t understand.” Vivian finally spoke with a wave of hand.
“Understand what again? What else is there to understand?”
“Nevermind.” Vivian responded as she prepared to head out.
“I’m not getting my friend and this mindset of hers anymore.
Or is there a force manipulating her?” Cindy thought to herself, which Eunice who had been watching the duo heard loud and clear.
“You wouldn’t dare.” Eunice said.
“I don’t know, anything strange or weird.” George asked calmly, hoping to hear a negative response.
“No, I didn’t see a thing. Except that to my utmost surprise the room was so dirty that cobwebs were all over the place.
I was even beginning to wonder the last time that place was swept.” She responded as he heaved a sigh of relief, even though her response wasn’t satisfying enough to him.
“There’s no cause for alarm then. When would the kids be back?” He said, changing the topic.
“I don’t know, but I feel they should be home soon.” She responded as he nodded and concentrated solely on his food.
